Monday Easy Run
I ran 3 easy miles on the treadmill tonight. It is in the high 80s outside so I opted for indoor running. I really dislike the treadmill but the hills near the house make it very difficult to run an easy workout locally. I usually drive about 5 miles from the house to a flatter area for easy workouts.

16 Miles on Cherokee Blvd.
For my long run today I ran three loops (or 16 miles) on Cherokee Blvd. I thought this would be excellent hill work for my upcoming marathon in July. I am running the Grandfather Mountain Marathon on July 11. This will be my third marathon.
Lori ran the first 5 miles with me. I ran the next 11 by myself. There are plenty of other runners on Cherokee Blvd most of the day so there is always motivation to run harder. There are usually some pretty fast runners that remind me why I keep plugging away at it.
I took walk breaks about every mile and avereaged 9:47 for the distance. Not bad for me in the hills.
